Underwood Legal, LLC is a Wisconsin estate planning and business law firm serving Madison, Oshkosh, and surrounding communities.
Our goal is to make clients feel welcome, to provide the best estate planning and business solutions possible, and maintain a long-term relationship with our clients to ensure that their planning always stays current.
Firm History:
- July 2012 - August 2016: Attorney Matthew Underwood founded the firm in 2012. Underwood Legal, LLC was a general practice law firm with a focus on estate planning.
- August 2016 - June 2018: Matt merged Underwood Legal, LLC with a Madison-based estate planning law firm where he continued to grow his practice.
- June 2018: Matt relaunched Underwood Legal, LLC as an estate planning specialty law firm in order to continue providing the best possible client experience.
Our Approach
Planning Phase
During your initial meeting with us, we will get to know each other and we will discuss your goals related to estate planning. We will discuss planning tools and answer any questions you may have. When you've had time to think about your planning options, we will design your estate plan in detail.
Implementation Phase
Once we have designed your plan, we will begin preparing your legal documents. During this step we will confirm that all of our information regarding your plan is correct. If you choose to use a trust for your core estate plan, we will prepare documents necessary to transfer your assets to the trust. The final step of this phase involves reviewing your custom legal documents with you, answering all of your questions, and guiding you through signing all of your documents.
Review and Update
After your signing, we will continue to provide you with ongoing support by answering questions and reviewing your plan with you regularly to make sure your plan does not drift from your goals. Overtime, your personal situation may change, your family may change, laws will change, so it is important to keep your estate plan up to date.
